PRESENTATION 2004

PRESENTATION DAY AGM 2004

Since the AGM Duncan Savage has come on board to revamp the fledgling website and Mr Paul Skrbic has offered his services where necessary.  Special thanks go out to those people who have offered to donate their time to make Season 2005 a year to be remembered!

For those of you who didn’t attend last year’s presentation night you missed a gala affair.  The committee decided to adopt a different format with the event being held on a Sunday afternoon / early evening instead of the usual Friday or Saturday night.

Outdoor activities were organised on the day with a SLAP SHOT CASTLE set up to test one’s shot velocity against a radar gun.  Even Danuta Hoy had a go.  She was caught on camera showing off her unique shooting style!!

As well as the SlapShotCastle a series of competitive events were held on the outdoor oval in which most attendees participated.  The first ever Demons Horse Race was run with spectators placing large sums of money on a fairly colorful field of horses and jockeys.  Alain Giauque (horse) and Katrina Johns (jockey) took line honors on the day to become the inaugural winners of this event.

You will be happy to know that the successful punter who shall remain nameless donated all $28.00 in winnings back to the club!

An egg & spoon race and an egg toss followed the infamous horse race.  Carol Howell was to feel the full effects of an incoming egg as a direct hit from her eldest son Ross was to find its mark all over Ms Howell!  Nice going Ross!!

For those who weren’t interested in competing in the outdoor events a series of exciting Ice Hockey DVD’s courtesy of Dirk Baeder and company were running continuously inside the hall.

Upon completion of the outdoor activities the event moved inside where the 2004 AGM was held with the new committee selected as noted previously.

Following the AGM and further to an excellent banquet the club awards as noted below were presented to the most deserving recipients.

The evening finished at 9:00 PM with everyone on their way home by 9:30.  By all accounts the new format was a great success with thumbs up from all who attended.  Lets work hard to ensure that this years event is every bit as successful as 2004.  Please support your club and make the 2005 awards presentation a must do event on your social calendar.
